One Lovely Blog Award

I was nominated by fellow writer Janet Wertman for the One Lovely Blog Award! The award recognizes newer, or up-and-coming bloggers who share their story or thoughts in a “lovely” manner, giving them recognition and helping them reach more viewers. In order to “accept” the award, the nominated blogger must follow several guidelines. I have these guidelines listed below.

The Rules for accepting the Award(s):

Thank and link back to the awesome person who nominated you.

Add the One Lovely Blog Award logo to your post and/or blog.

Share 7 things about yourself.

Nominate 15 other bloggers and comment on their blogs to let them know.

Many thanks Janet for the nomination, it is very much appreciated! I think your blog is great too! http://janetwertman.com/

Right, so seven things about me…..

  • I am half-Italian and half-English. The most common question I get asked is “Do you feel more Italian or English?” and to be honest I can’t answer that. I would just say “Both” as I am close to both cultures and try to get out the best of both!

  • As a result of my Italian-English upbringing, when I was little, I named all my dolls after words that were my interpretation of the Italian language, for example, “Munchie” (from “Mangare” – “To Eat”) and “Bubeen” (from “Bambina” – “Little Girl”).

  • When I was little, the things I wanted to do when I grew up included being a Nurse, a Nun, a Pop Star and marrying Mark Owen from Take That!

  • My English Teacher once said that I suffered from “Verbosity”, or “Verbal Diarrhoea” when I wrote. When she asked for a short story, I would give her a novel. She also described my poetry as “Purple Prose” because it had “metaphors and similes coming out of its earholes”.

  • When I was 13, my mate and I formed a band called “Secret Impulse”. She wrote the music and played the Piano. I wrote the lyrics and sang the songs. Sadly, it didn’t work out, which was a shame as I did consider the idea of naming our debut album “Purple Prose”….

  • I’ve met two members of the Royal Family. When I was 15, I sang for Princess Anne when she opened a Horse Riding School. I also met the Duke of Edinburgh about ten years ago when helping at a charity event.

  • When I was a student, I was on a Bus coming back from a lecture and I passed an old building. For a brief moment, I saw an old woman through one of the windows and thought to myself “She looks familiar”, but the Bus carried on moving before I had a chance to pinpoint where I had seen this woman before. When I got home, I put on the TV and it showed that same old building. An event had taken place there and the event had been attended by the Queen….
